Where In Canada Do You Buy Spiker Hair Gel

Kagoshima Tanegashima and Cape Sata Beppu

The road then quickly scrolls up 鹿 児 岛 Kagoshima , the big city (600,000 pop.) the most southerly of Japan. The corner (left side of the clip) called Satsuma 萨摩 the previous century, therefore this name is found everywhere.

The city is placed within a clamp in Kagoshima Bay. She faces Sakurajima 桜 岛, in the middle of the bay, a former island volcano, but not ready to be a former volcano.

Kagoshima Bay

View on Google Maps

Our arrival is in the smoke spat from Sakurajima. More on this island on the way home.

At the entrance to Kagoshima, the volcano smokes

Arriving at night, I just have time to do some tracking, disturbed by the presence of 2 stations that seem to dispute the centrality: 鹿 児 岛 駅 (Kagoshima-eki, implicitly large station Central) and 鹿 児 岛 中央 (Kagoshima-chuo, literally " Central Station", and indeed in the center). In fact the first, where I dropped by the GPS, is offset to the north, and is practical only for its proximity to ports.

I found a place worthy to set up camp on the hilltop 城 山 Shiroyama, which offers a breathtaking view over the city.

From my balcony

But there is one detail frustrating: I know right in front of me, there is a large volcano, Sakurajima, who smoked a few hours earlier, but the sky is black and I can not distinguish anything.

We guess the outline of Sakurajima 桜 岛 in the bay behind the town

In the morning, here it

Sakurajima 桜 岛
and 鹿 児 岛 Kagoshima

However, at 6.30am on Sunday, the view is already invaded by a clan of their grandpas who taiso (gym).

The local hero is 西 郷 隆盛 Saigo Takamori . It was the samurai of Satsuma, apparently a good guy who has contributed to the end of the shogunate and the international opening of Japan by the end of his self-imposed isolation in 1868. By cons 10 years later, he rebels against the abandonment of the feudal system which resign bloodthirsty and 40,000 men are zigouillés by those of the new government. But in his final moments of life, he had the wit to commit seppuku, and the suicide "heroic" in the "Last Samurai" in fact a figure admired today, with movies and video games to boot.

Kagoshima seems pleased with its internationalization, and its pairing with Naples (pictured) , Miami and Perth

My
morning mission is to find the ferry port of embarkation before he left. The thing is, there are several companies and several ports. And my pre-mission is to remove the sub. Delicate thing in Japan, because despite my 2 debit cards 100% Japanese, according to the companies and vending machines, it is impossible to remove before 8 or 9am (ATMs who work fewer hours than the Japanese salarymen are included in the inconsistencies of the 1001 book Japan) .

Dilemma

flares and big trees is exactly what I want. Found the first time!

For cons, the ferry off the price I found on my laptop does not start from here, but not practice any port south of the city. Too bad, I take it to 3000 yen, validating my gakuwari expired.

I just have time to run to conbination withdraw money before the departure of the ferry 种子 岛 Tanegashima, an island where I'm not sure there's a distributor, and the tiny ferry starts.

The Volcano Sakurajima 桜 岛 we spawn a passage

Bye-bye Kagoshima

Bye-bye Sakurajima

board, it has very little activity.

Option 1: Taxi , subtitled Japanese. By cons I do not remember it was very lame

Option 2: Watch overboard shuttles fast (3 times the price of my ferry) who played Moses

Then they finally released the bay skirting 佐 多 岬 Cape Sata. It's the equivalent of Confederate 宗 谷 岬 Cape Soya (northern Hokkaido), namely an extreme point of the 4 major Japanese islands excluding Okinawa (south) and disputed islands in the Kuriles.
And now one more to strike out on my list of things intelligent do in Japan.

Cape Sata and its lighthouse

In video

The left end of the clip does not fall as low as Cape Sata, but it is easier to spot because it gives them the 开 闻 岳 Mount Kaimon , at 924 meters above of sea level Yep, it's a volcano like many other Japanese mountains, he received the nickname inevitably 萨摩 富士 Satsuma Fuji.

Halfway between 鹿 児 岛 Kagoshima 西 之 表 Nishinoomote on the island of Tanegashima 种子 岛

My plan is to go see the Space Center on Tanegashima (Island stretched), then reach the mountains of Yakushima (Round Island) before back to Kagoshima.

Arrived on Tanegashima 种子 岛, I rest a day and night.

Then I'm leaving the next day, under a sky cursed. The ferry at 1000 yen I wanted to take to reach Yakushima not operating this March, so I take the Toppy (who fly on the water) to 3500 yen. Both islands are fairly close, but there is so much fog that I will not see Yakushima before entering the port.

The Toppy is a sound of air at startup, and he leans in turns. It makes you want to see flying over water, but as it is forbidden to remove his belt, slow ferries are ultimately more interesting.
