Summary Sakura

Unlike Koyo, I did that in 2 seasons of sakura 桜 , cherry blossoms. Indeed, the days of 満 开 [Mankai] are expected for weeks in advance, and are the number 2 or 3 ...
In Kyoto, it was during the first 2 weeks of April as it happens.

Summary Oshima

I arrived for the first time in Japan in June 2006. It was at Oshima 大 岛, a small island in Nagasaki prefecture 长崎, 30 minutes by boat from 佐世保 Sasebo. The island has 6000 inhabitants, roughly 3,000 fishermen and 3,000 employees of the shipyard, 大 岛 造船 Oshima Shipyard.

For 3 months, I completed an internship at the shipyard design department of the hull. And I also started this blog. The following posts were written during my presence in Oshima, and deal mainly with life on the island, in the company, and a few short trips around like 崎 戸 Sakito or Beppu 别 府.

Last days and last hours in Japan

My 30-month contract in Japan ends in late March. The grant ends, the visa also, enrollment at the university ... So if I do not fly back to France before March 31, I will from 1 April to almost the penultimate level social last.

is the end. I must make my empty room, obviously to make a final trip , and also make sure I graduate.

For the latest photos from the phone ...

I'll take a TOEFL Osaka Japanese city still ugly. Thinking about the profitability of sq.m., people build hideous buildings on a very small area. And if the neighbor decides to destroy his property for parking, there remains a close and ugly turn in the middle of nothing ...

Always Osaka, and some marketing. The accents that always very French, it sells, and here we can even put them on an R

Finally, a little common sense in this world upside

My thesis is finally finished and printed in 4 copies. New record key, 50 consecutive hours without a wink - and no stroll either

And incredibly lucky, a herd of maiko and their clients want to take the same picture as me

Here we are more in Japan, but still beautiful

Overview of the White Sea

Well, then I am entitled to a last last word.

I'm glad I came, glad that everything I saw and experienced, and glad to leave too.

The harder it was to understand what my place in this society and how to interact with the Japanese. And it's super hard to explain what I learned, but find examples for the "acknowledgments" my thesis, I stumbled upon a book (free online) that makes precise analysis and worked: In 日本 外人 The Unspoken Contract .

For everything else, all the beautiful places and memorable experiences, it's pictures in the previous posts .

And here さようなら!

Kumamoto by night

Kumamoto a little less than 700,000 inhabitants, is the 21th largest city in Japan, and most of southern Kyushu, not far ahead Kagoshima .

I am getting so narrowly and night, and to see that for a Monday evening, 熊 本 Kumamoto is surprisingly lively!

Compact Subwoofer Car

Sakurajima

Before I begin my ascent to the thumb towards the North, I stay overnight at 鹿 児 岛 Kagoshima, and more specifically on the peninsula of Sakurajima 桜 岛, host of one of Japan's volcanoes more active.

is the island-volcano that had erupted in preview arriving Kagoshima on . Finally, since its eruption in 1914, its lava was attached to the wall of the bay of Kagoshima. Its summit is 1117 meters eater, and good volcanic island that can be likened to a disk, its diameter is 10 km and a circumference of 55 km and an area of 77 sq. km.

Since the ferry entering the port of Kagoshima

Between Kagoshima and Sakurajima Rather than take the road that goes around, you take one of the frequent ferries crossing for 10 minutes. It was almost dark when I arrived, and unfortunately the great rotenburo the onsen I spotted 古 里 温泉 Furusato Onsen, closes at 20 pm. I therefore flaps マグマ 温泉 Magma Onsen from 国民 宿舎 レインボー 桜島 Rainbow Hotel, the large building near the ferry port. For 300 yen, it is very good, with a view of Kagoshima illuminated. So I made myself fall asleep and the closing anecdote during my current cycling tour of Shikoku .

オヤスミ

wake up, I stretch my legs along the 溶岩 なぎさ 遊歩道 Lava Nagisa Promenade, a walk along the coast, crossing the lava rocks melted.

Columbus Ohio Take Written Driver Test

Yakushima Tour

About Yakushima

Yakushima Hiking 白谷云 水 峡 Shiratani Unsuikyo Yakushima Tour
1 / 4 2 / 4 3 / 4 4 / 4

As previously introduced , Yakushima is a circular island, whose heart is populated by a dense forest, magic and more than 40 peaks over 1000 meters. But the perimeter is more or less busy when there instead.

At the mouth of the two largest streams are the two largest villages, 宫 之 浦 安 房 Miyanoura and Ambo. And if not, there are smaller villages, waterfalls, onsen ... well, things natural.

Instead of doing it by bicycle, it is finally all together around the island by car, because Kenji is on leave due to bad weather. The fishermen, many of Yakushima, have also forced many leave because of the extreme southern island prevented them from sailing. Besides, I also thought renter today, but at dawn, the Speakers announced the departure of non-ferry. Yakushima not Quit! (Except aircraft)

Yakushima 屋 久 岛, 130 km perimeter

We drive in the opposite counterclockwise direction, along Highway 77 which is sometimes called 78. There for 130 miles. And we look at the remarkable places .

The first stop is 千寻 滝 Senpiro-no-taki, a large waterfall

course, the souvenir shop, was the variation of Kitty-chan ...

Pic-nic wild

the other side of the island, then we arrive at 大川 の 滝 OHKO-no-taki, a waterfall even greater. With its 88 meters, it is ranked in the Top 100 Japan waterfalls.

大川 の 滝 OHKO-no-taki

And it also makes me want to swim ...

We continue our journey, it is this time on the Seibu Rindo 西部 林 道, a road a little cut in the mountain because there is no flat land along the ocean. It's very narrow, and that's where bus stops to make full turns of the island.

西部 林 道 Seibu Rindo Forest Path

大 浦 温泉 Isso Oura Onsen, unfortunately closed

After a tiny miserable road, there was this miserable building that can not be confused with an onsen. And yet, casting a glance through the windows, there are many small bathroom miserable. It is well an onsen! Too bad, we'll go to another.

Finally, 楠 川 温泉 Kusukawa Onsen welcomes us. This is not the luxury ...

Back at HQ, サンパウロ ...

Dai & Co. ... where we prepare a plate diabolical

A giant plate for 3 full of sashimi tuna, flying fish, octopus, squid, bonito, ... as fresh and local

For the finale, nothing better than to relax in an onsen, and a particular property. In the south of the island, there are 2 actually, baths on the beach with sea views

is the first attempt, 汤 泊 温泉 Yudomari Onsen. But water is very warm, and as we are still early March, it begins to freeze ...

汤 泊 温泉 Yudomari Onsen by night

Then we'll have a look at 平 内海 中 温泉 Hirauchi Kaichu Onsen. This is really beside the sea, so it is accessible at low tide. And it is mixed, so difficult to convince the other 3 to do a jump. During the day, it is apparently very touristy and most onlookers go there just to "show", which obviously reduces the number of people who want to swim. But at night it sounds top. Finally, when the tide goes out, we'll have a look.

The tide has just begun, and baths, hardly visible, are still dirty. Accidentally fall into it fully clothed Dai, what makes us go faster warm. His mobile phone has died, which proves that it was salt water and no clean water for onsen!

Sunday, March 15, 2009

After two days of autarky, the ferry finally move again between Yakushima and Kagoshima .

We say goodbye to the upper deck 安 房 大桥 Ambo, a bridge high enough mystery which from time to time, people fell or jumped ...

安 房 大桥 Bridge Ambo

Then I'll take my ferry from 宫 之 浦 Miyanoura for a return to Kagoshima.

→ The return ferry to Kagoshima
The following Sakurajima
